Hi
I remember Mr. Watkins headmaster, he was strict and I must admit I was a bit frightened of him, but I think we could do with a lot more headmasters like him, and I did get told off quite a lot, but now I am older I realize I deserved it.
My favourite teachers were Mr. Free the maths teacher and Mr. Chapel the RI teacher.
I have very happy memories of Canvey a great place to grow up.

Hi there,
I was at Furtherwick school from 1962 to 1967 and was taught by Fred Watkins... anyone out there who was at this school during those years? I rememember Fred as being fair but strict. How about you?

Hi,
I also remember Mr Free, He was my form teacher in the years bewteen 62 to 67... He has a great sense of humour...

Hi all,
It doesnt look like a lot of you know so I thought I would tell you that Mr Watkins passed away in March.

Sorry to hear that - yes, he was bit of a disciplinarian - and I had a caning or two myself from him - but I deserved it at the time and don't think it done me any harm - wonder how he would fair today -
